Celebrating 2024

2024 was an important year for our team as we began distribution of Water is Love: Ripples of Regeneration through limited online streaming events, in-person community screenings, film festivals, and even visiting schools with our water curriculum!

In 2024, our documentary has been screened over 200 times in 50 countries. During the moments we had limited screenings online, we had 6000 views and 2000 people participating in our summit “What Does Water Want?”

Inspired by screenings, communities have fortified connections and coalitions that have already existed in their regions by coming together to watch the documentary. Soon, we will share an example from Greece about how a screening of Water is Love inspired a community to experiment with water retention, recycling grey water, and more!

This speaks to our intention of creating community and movement building. The documentary was never meant to just be consumed as a piece of media, but to be a tool to bring people together and care for our surroundings.

We attended the Bioneers Conference, NYC Climate Week, and film festivals in California, Florida, New York, Lisbon, London, where we made connections, created partnerships, and even won awards!

Water is Love: Ripples of Regeneration won:

6 Awards  - India, Germany, Netherlands

4 Honorable Mentions - Germany, Greece, USA, Australia

2 Nominees - France and Sweden

4 Official Selections - Canada, USA, Brazil

How Water Makes Climate won:

7 Awards - India, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, England

4 Official Selections - France, Canada, Armenia, Germany

In Portugal, we brought the curriculum and mini-water retention landscape activity to eco-schools in the Azores thanks to Expolab.

We knew it was essential to create content that could reach school children so we developed a curriculum to accompany the animation “How Water Makes Climate,” available in Portuguese, English, and now in Spanish!

We have already reached over 100 educators who are bringing the animation and curriculum to their classrooms, including visits from our team to 10 schools to teach about water retention and water cycles.

It is a huge gift to share climate content that opens people’s hearts and moves them into action, to see tears in people's eyes when the lights come on after a screening, to see children’s faces light up with understanding and awe about how water moves and how it has a soul.

From the whole team of Water is Love we thank you for your heartfelt affirmations that we have indeed created something beautiful and meaningful for these times.
